4.0 out of 5 stars Swords? sensor? go it wrong me thinks., 22 Jan 2009
By Mr. M. Mills "Blueicestudios" (England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
having read most of the reviews about these light swords it would seem that most have forgoten that the Wiimote only relys on the sensor (which isn't actualy a sensor, but a bank of high intesity infra red LED. The Wiimote sensor on the front is a camera that establishes its point in space by 'Seeing' the leds. it then interprets the information and then sends this to the Wii via 'Bluetooth'.. therefore only games that rely on the Wiimote actually being pointed at the screen need to have a clear LoS on the Sensor bar. This however is NOT required to play games such as Lightsabre Duels. This will initially require the wiimote to point at the screen to set up and start the game, but once started the game only relys on the bluetooth capabilities of the Wiimote.. the front sensor isn't used! onlly the very sophisticated dual position accelerometers, these tell the Wii how fast and in what direction the Wiimote is moving.
So yes these Swords make an excellent addition to your gaming, (Yes i have them, and the sword type games.) So if you're still not convinced, ask yourself this....How does the Wiimote work in the Steering wheel accessory.. that too obscures the view of the front Wiimote camera.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic saber!!, 3 Nov 2008
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Nice and sturdy and just in time for clone wars lightsaber duals coming out. :):) Its great with the force unleased, for kids and the big kids like myself :)

Not sure what the hell the other reviewer is going on about!!! why give a one star review without any critism at all!! To answer his question...maybe he wants to actually read the description...does it say its offical anywhere on the description??? NO!!! So clearly not or they would have said that wouldn't they! Secondly...it references star wars but does not say light saber anywhere!! laser saber in one place and its called a glow saber..but not light saber.

Anyway...I like mine so my review was amongst the rant here. No faults at all! :)

1.0 out of 5 stars thrustmaster glow saber duo pack, 26 Dec 2008
By Mrs. S. J. Mackenzie - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
My husband was so excited to recieve these on xmas day with the clone wars game. Unfortunatley like others of you we discovered its a con a waste of money as they do not work with the wii. Although they look brill with the lights etc it is pointless to say they go with the wii when there is no way of getting them to work with it. Very dissapointing and should not be listed with wii game products but should just be sold as kids light saber. Needless to say these are going back for a refund!
