Is the the new technology developed by Thrustmaster to reproduce movements made on a product in games. It relies on magnetic – and not mechanical – 3D (HallEffect) sensors, placed in different locations according to the product in question. The precision made possible by the use of this technology is significantly higher than that provided by standard technologies.
Another advantage of this system: by eliminating all friction, it guarantees zero mechanical wear, for permanent precision that won’t decrease over time.
The level of precision is also enhanced by the absence of any dead zones: even the slightest movement made by the player results in a reaction. Actions in games are therefore more linear, smoother and without any untimely jolts. A patent application has been filed for this technology.

Fun:
I just bought this along with F1 2010 and you have to consider a few things: No I am not a "hardcore" racing sim guy and I know this has no force feedback but I wanted a wheel and pedal set with good build quality. I have a small living room and not much space and I had a few extra bucks and I have to say this wheel set is great fun. The whole thing is very well put together with no messy wires hanging around. Pedals are firm with good resistance and made of metal alloy. Paddle gear shifters have a nice spring to them and the whole telescopic thing works when I'm on my couch. I have a carpet (not hard floor) and the pedal set has got good weight. It feels good as a whole package. I read some review that the telescopic arm still moves under racing duress but if you read the instructions it states you can achieve maximum tightness by using a size 10 spanner on the screws to tighten and I have to say, it doesn't budge after you do this!
If you have some money to lavish on someone or yourself and you are not too bothered about force feedback then this product could be for you. If you want force feedback then the Logitec G25 wheel is for you but bear in mind you need to physically mount it onto a desk of some kind and then the wires. If you have the room for this then fine.
The next step up is the G27 plus "playseat" and you can Google this but I saw that this option is in excess of £800!!! If you want the ultimate setup and you want your cake and to be able to eat it then you are a hardcore racer and perhaps the 800 quid G27 and WRC playseat will set your world alight, no doubt.
The Ferrari Scuderia is arcade fun for the casual racer like myself and I love using it with F1 2010. Good product but you have to decide what kind of racing gamer you are... hardcore or a casual guy looking for kicks :-) Make your decision based on that and you won't be disappointed in the long run.
Do I miss force feedback? Put it this way I always smile when I shift down a few gears and brake into a corner and accelerate away. It feels great and I'm happy with this!

Fun:
Just received this from Amazon yesterday (Sat) and I love it! It was a little hassle setting up the instructions 'must' be translated into English, as they don't make sense grammatically.
Other than that it's awesome! I bought the PC version and saved my self £70 they are identical (there is only one version of this and amazon seem to be marking the 'PS3' version up! Cheeky!)
Both versions work on PC or PS3 there is a switch on the dongle to set this.
I am relatively new to wheel racing, I had one years ago with my ps2. But it was cheap and I only used it twice maybe tops!
It takes a little getting used to, but once you hone in on the sweet spots you'll be carving corners like a pro! (Bragging on my part! :') )
It really has put a smile on my face...
Build quality is amazing and the materials are nicely put together.
(Verdict & Final thoughts)
I would love them to make a FFB (Full Force Feedback version), I would be giving this 5 out of 5 stars if it had.
Also would like the base to be a little heavier to 'totally' eliminate movement, which is ever so slight (when being heavy handed in an unsuspected corner)

Serious Sim drivers will not be totally satisfied with it as it lacks FFB, but its wireless & portable in a boot of car, and be carried around even by a 10 year old... Easy to put away, no wires, that to me is evolution. Its also meant to be fun and enhance the game, its not serious by any means but is a lot more realistic and extremely convenient.
They just need to add a motor and a mains adapter for FFB, and this will challenge even more expensive wheels £400+.
It works on GT5 and any other game for PS3 as the wheel takes place of the official dualshock/sixaxis controller for the PS3.

Procedure to configure and optimize the wheel:
(This procedure only needs to be carried out once, as the changes will then be saved in the game)
1) Start up your game.
2) Go to the OPTION menu.
3) Go to the CONTROLLER SETUP menu(by clicking the symbol representing the gamepad and the D-Pad).
4) Configure your controller as follows:
* Accelerate on R2
* Brake on L2 * Shift Up on R1
* Shift Down on L1
* Rear View on L3 and/or R3
* Left & Right View on D-Pad Left & Right
5) Click OK (in the lower right part of your screen).
6) Return to the main menu to access the track of your choice.
You are now ready to play!

Fun:
The wheel and pedals are a fantastic aid to any driving game. It really brings F1 2010 into a new dynamic and makes the game much more playable. 1 month into using however I started to get glitches on the up gear change when it frequently but randomly changed up by more than one gear. I reported the fault to Thrustmaster who arranged for a new wheel to be sent, but before they could do so something broke at the bottom of the brake pedal. I heard it crack, and from then on the brakes were permanently on and made the whole thing unusable.
Amazon were great and exchanged the whole thing without any quibble. The new device is fine (at the moment). Bear in mind I am a mature guy and that I am conscious of not giving this thing a lot of stick, I was disappointed that it broke so easily. It may have been a bad item, and I'll see how I go with the replacement. It certainly looks and feels solid, but many of the internal parts are obviously plastic when I think they should be metal. After all I paid a lot for this and don't expect it to break after a month of TLC!
