As usual, David Brin does a great job of getting his ideas across. I especially liked the writers guidance part.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great reviews and hard hitting social commentary 11 May 2013
By M. W. Ritter - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This was a fascinating look into the basic ideology of Dr. David Brin, who has some real insights into society's configuration, what has gone wrong in the past and how to keep it from going wrong again.

He's a fascinating writer and he makes several important points that you probably haven't thought about but make perfect sense, and explains why you haven't thought about it before and the insidious traps that people fall into because of societal pressure.

It's a great set of essays that use book reviews to paint the picture of the present day society, where it's going, where it shoud be going and how to make it move in the right direction.
