5.0 out of 5 stars Fails to disappoint!! 19 April 2010
Format:Hardcover
Following In shade and Shadow, Through Stone and Sea does not disappoint, the book is equally if not better than the one before and matches even the adventures of Magiere and Leesil (in my opinion). Wynn, Shade and Chane unravel deeper secrets whilst attempting to gain access to those confiscated ancient texts that she found in the Farlands. She unearths more than she bargains for and the book plays out brilliantly as even more of the plot thickens! This is a really good saga and I am amazed at how each and every book has been as equally as compelling as the other, I suggest that everyone should read The Noble Dead Saga!

For those who are still skeptical because Wynn now leads the adventure...

When I first found out that Wynn would take the lead character in the saga I admit to being disappointed, I kept thinking it wouldn't be the same without Leesil and Magiere and I thought Wynn was slightly annoying and a bit of a burden. However, I am now very fond of Wynn and her companions! I especially disliked Chane, as throughout the saga he has previously been shown in a bad light by tagging along with the old antagonist Welstiel. From reading this book I have grown to like him, as Wynn seems to bring out the good in him and you get to see a side to him that has not yet been revealed. Shade is also a lovable character in this book, adding humour like the daughter of Chap would and also her unique abilities that greatly assist the trio within the Dwarven stronghold.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Read 22 Mar 2010
Format:Hardcover
When i first started this book i thought it wasn't as good as it's predecessors and a little slow, by page 200 it really improved. This book continues to follow Wynn's progress in uncovering the ancient texts that she found in the first saga. I have found that this series is more about the dwarves and the guild of sagecraft as opposed to the vampires and elves of the first, however Wynn's old companions are mentioned more than once and it's still the same ancient enemy terrorising her. I really enjoy the noble dead saga as a whole and thought Through Stone and Sea an excellent addition, but to understand the story you will need to read all previous books for it to make sense but definately worthwhile doing so.

5.0 out of 5 stars Could'nt put it down 1 Jan 2011
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Having read the first instalment of the new series i was a little wary of the second book in the series but i need not have worried because this is by far the best story and i could not put it down. The build up to the final chapter was exciting and suspenseful and i cant wait to see what Wynn, Chane and Shade get up to in the next instalment. I do miss Magiere, Leesil and Chap but this new series in the Noble Dead saga certainly lives up to expectations.
