Since their debut album Can't Slow Down, Saves The Day have evolved into an amazing fusion of stark vocals, catchy riffs and lyrics that have proved an inspiration to every person who has been fortunate enough to come across this band. Chris Conley is an outstanding songwriter and he reaches his fans by singing about things they can all relate to. This is understandable, as, with an average age of about 20, Saves The Day are a very young band who have proved their talent having already released two full length albums, showing that they can only improve and keep learning.
Straight off from the first time playing this cd I couldn't keep it out of my hi-fi for weeks and this is after having been blessed with such sounds as the Ataris, Nofx, Get Up Kids, MxPx and others. Through Being Cool for me has been a revelation, it has totally inspired me, Chris Conley writes the best lyrics I've heard yet, and I thought Kris Roe was a great songwriter. The first track on the album is All-Star Me, which shows an energetic, bright side of the band and sets a high standard for the rext of the album which i didn't expect to be held. However You Vandal keeps up the tempo and shows off Chris' vocals and some powerful chords. The best track has to be Rocks Tonic Juice Magic with it's harsh lyrics and catchy tune that will keep you singing it all day. There are no let down tacks on this album and there is always one STD album in my stereo. A must have for any punk fan and definately worth the money. This is the first STD album I bought and probably the best but the others are not to be overlooked and I find myself telling everyone how great they are. Chris constantly says how if it wasn't for the other members in the band, they wouldn't be what they are now and I completely understand. Growing up in the same lifestyle has made them enjoy the music they are making and crafted it into a culmination of musical genius that is Saves The Day. Buy this if it's the one thing you buy this year.
