5.0 out of 5 stars Two thumbs way up!, 17 Oct 2006
By John Majors - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This highly anticipated publication has a prestigious array of talented contributors that should make it a truly inspirational read. American poet and author Collin Kelley joins the efforts of Kyla Clay-Fox of "Morning Fog Press" in the UK and Jeffrey Side from "The Argotist On-line" magazine in this endeavor. Their commitment in selecting art, poetry and complimentary prose from some of the most talented and inspired Kate Bush fans from the "Homeground" forum and other sources has been a labor of love. This limited edition publication is sure to be a collector's item for fans of Kate Bush. More than that it is a testatment to the power of truth through art and beauty.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, 7 Oct 2007
As a fan of Kate Bush, I was intrigued by this publication because her music has always been quite inspirational to me in many ways. I am not an artist or a writer, but I am an enthusiast and I thought it would be nice to see how her music has helped those who do work in the arts sublimate their emotions, ideas and perspectives through different creative channels. Being a fan I do realize the passion can spill over a bit and get a little oppressive, but this volume of art and poetry is positively lovely. The production of the book itself is extremely well done and the writing and visual creations that live on the inside are quite good and full of wonder.

And I have to say that the work really does stand on its own outside of Kate's inspiration. Although there are portraits of Kate and the occasional gushing, it truly is not a traditional tribute perse in which the art and writings consistently place her upon a pedestal. It is quality work that has its own identity. Much of the poetry is actually quite outstanding and if you read it separate from this volume, you would never know it was inspired by Kate Bush unless you were told.

I actually received it as a gift this weekend because there are no more available. A really good friend did his best to track one down for me and I am so glad he did. I had to come here to lend my comments because I never thought I would ever see a copy and now I own one and have really enjoyed perusing its pages. It is a curious and charming addition to my bookshelf and I will certainly treasure it :)

1.0 out of 5 stars OH DEAR, 6 Sep 2007
Highly anticipated? No
Authors? No again

Always a worry when you see a product which reads "inspired by..." especially when that person is the great kate bush. Obviously there is a labour of love here, great title from the KB song Never Be Mine but the poems just sound too gushing and sickly to warrant any feedback. Not one for Joe Public although I daresay true KB fans will be gushing about this book on forums together with "what shall i cook for miss bush". I bought this a while back but have now dontaed to a worthy cause. One to avoid. To note further my review has been attacked in the notable KB forum even by the writers here - in defence this review is not unsigned as my name is clearly signed, i did purcahse the book hence the review and finally if you cannot take/handle/bear to read any form of review positive or negative then either don't read it or better still don't publish/release anything that warrants a review. One can also choose to ignore feedback. I did say above there was no doubt a labour of love intended here but its a shame that didn't continue with the writing and even more so by the comments and abuse by the people involved. It appears okay to slat Madonna by certian people (yes I do read the forum!) but when it comes to your own work you don't like a bad comment and slat me. Shame on you and thank you Rachel for your comments.
