I'm really enjoying this cookbook, along with my family! My 15 year old daughter and a friend are learning to cook for their Duke of Edinburgh skill and tried the 'Sausage and Sweet Potato Bake' this weekend for Sunday lunch. They both found the recipe simple to follow, thought the dish looked really pretty to look at with its' bright orange sweet potato, and smelled great cooking - that combination of rosemary and browning onions is superb! They felt successful in their efforts and we all really enjoyed a great lunch. We all had a go scraping the crispy, gooy bits of onion off the edges of the pan.Really tasty and a solid win - win, for one tired Mum.

One of the things I really like about Thrifty Cook Main Meals is the ease of the recipes - they all seem easy to follow using simple ingredients - most of which I've got in my store cupboard! So many recipes today seem to take so long to prepare and call for unusual ingredients that are difficult for me to source. The kids are going for the 'Chunky Veg Casserole' next weekend. Roll on Thrifty cook - I'm in heaven. Can't wait to see what you've got in store for puddings!

Thrifty Cook Main Meals gives good advice about how to plan meals ahead, which is not only time saving but also more economical. The recipes use fresh ingredients that are ideally organic and locally sourced with tips on picking up bargains. The recipes will appeal to all the family and include the tasty and imaginative use of leftovers. This is a really useful book with easy to follow recipes which are healthy and speedy to produce.

Even for an experienced cook there some good ideas in this book and for someone starting out to feed a family while watching the cost this is an excellent reference.

In these times of austerity and being aware of the amount of food wasted on a daily basis these recipes will save waste and at the same time help with the food budget.

I got this book on my Kindle but am now thinking of a copy for the Kitchen. As someone who is always wondering what to cook for tea this is ideal. I can organise ingredients and plan ahead and not spend a fortune, which is great for families. I like home cooked food and would really recommend this book.

Tessa's recipes have really made me look at the way I shop and use ingredients I buy. Great tips on picking up bargains, saving money, sourcing local produce, using leftovers.

The recipes are so easy to follow and the end result is a really tasty meal and I'm no cook, Tessa's book are now a permanent feature in my kitchen :)

Everyone should try her books

I'm not the domestic Goddess that some of you ladies are! This is a fab book with easy recipes, mouthwatering pictures (always good to have an idea of what it's supposed to look like!) and clear instructions. The tomato, goat's cheese and walnut tart is definitely a stayer!
Looking forward to the next book that this talented author/cook comes up with! I'm a fan already!

At last, a recipe book which contains ingredients I can actually lay my hands on easily and recipes which are easy to follow. I particularly like Tessa's understanding of cooking healthy and tasty meals for a family on a budget and with limited time. Definitely a cookery book for every busy family's kitchen!
