4.0 out of 5 stars The real story 25 Aug 2007
Format:DVD
If you're interested in the Salem witch trials this three parter gives a mass of detail in a short space of time. It has been carefully researched and stayed true to events. The three woman playing the Towne sisters are fabulous, and just the way I imagined. Wigs and costumes tend to be over clean (just fresh from wardrobe department?) but this is nit-picking. An authentic, well-researched depiction of the Salem tragedy, with terrific lead performances.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vanessa rises to the challege once again 26 April 2013

I first watched this 3 part serial many years ago and has stayed with me! human history and it's violence and disregard for life is well documented just look at the 20th century alone.
These three women and there were many, many others who suffered and died from the bigotry and superstition of the Gentry, remember it was the wealthy who created and held positions of power back then! Not law and order as we know it today. how testimony of a child such as in this feature could condemn anyone to the fate that befell those women and How Sarah persevered for justice..........the acting is first class as you'd expect from this cast, the direction is powerful. This serial like many over the years deserves to be revisited!
