Book Description

A new modern fable from this master storyteller, and creator of Elmer and Mr Benn.

Product Description

Two monsters react in a deplorably recognisable and unwelcoming way when a strange third monster arrives in their idyll by the sea. The alien says that his homeland was destroyed by an earthquake, and he needs a place to live - and he offers to make himself useful to them if the two monsters let him stay. Having originally told him to go, they rethink, and make him do lots of necessary land clearing that they had been too lazy to do themselves. Once he has done it, the horrible pair do tell him to go, and then watch in amazement as he dances back to his boat. The clever stranger has built himself his own personal little island with the earth and plants they told him to clear away. (20040624)

Amazing Story 10 Nov 2006
Format:Paperback
This book is suitable for all children aged three and over. It is about a yellow monster searching for a new home. Children will learn to treat other people as they would like to be treated, in this extremely interesting book, which has brilliant pictures and fantastic vocabulary. In the end, the yellow monster creates a new island paradise.

Marmite book! 20 Mar 2010
Format:Paperback
I liked Two Monsters, so thought I'd get this one. Whilst Two Monsters is quite funny, with all the insults the two monsters fling at each other, this one felt wrong. I don't know if it was that it felt racist, (the monster is yellow, and they call him Mustard Face etc) or if it was the fact that there were two monsters ganging up on one - I just didn't like it. I got one for my nephew too, but am too embarassed to give it to him, so am thinking of donating it to the local library, where people can have a look before borrowing. Like Two Monsters, you either like it or hate it - like Marmite. I just didn't like this one and don't enjoy reading it to my children.

Great kids book 9 Dec 2011
By Dawn
Format:Hardcover
My nephew asked for this for Christmas so I know he will love it. It's a good kids book quite colourful and silly, some insults that are used maybe a little close to the Mark for some people but my three year old nephew loves it. All in all a good buy.
