5.0 out of 5 stars Clever, quick mysteries that are a lot of fun to solve 16 Aug. 2014
By Jeff Wignall - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
If you're like me and you like quick little mind puzzles that require some logic and brain power to solve, you'll really enjoy Stephen Rogers' "Three-Minute Mysteries" series. To be honest, I'm a writer and I bought the first of these because I had read some of Rogers' very well-written how-to article about mystery writing. I found the writing so informative and so practical that I wanted to read some of his fiction works. I'm glad that I sought these books out.

There easy to read, fun and a great way to understand the larger picture of how and why mysteries work. If you carry a Kindle or other reader around with you and like to have short pieces to read while killing a few mins at the dentist's office or on the train, you'll love these. Each mystery (usually just a few pages) is followed by a solution, so you get to compare your detecting skills with agh of the author. For the price, a super bargain.

3.0 out of 5 stars Editing Errors 27 April 2014

I have to read at night before going to sleep and while this filled the bill, the editing was lacking with words missing.
5.0 out of 5 stars I love these books! 3 Feb. 2013

I have all three of these and believe me, they are perfect for the inquiring mind. If you love mysteries and have short waiting periods and a good mind, buy all three. And by the time you finish the third one, the first one is like brand new and you can start over!
3.0 out of 5 stars Some good mysteries in this book...and some not so good. 23 Dec. 2014

Good, but not great. Some of the mysteries are well-crafted. Others are downright silly. Some are only solvable by guessing. But they are enjoyable overall. I liked them enough to buy the 2nd in the series.

This is a fun little book to have with you. I have the Kindle edition. Whenever I find myself in line or waiting around, I read one of the stories.
