Product Description

Pamela Pryor's son has, at last, left home. She feels free but also strangely restless. There have been three significant men in her life - Peter, her ex-husband; Douglas, a style guru; and Dean, a handsome younger man - all of whom have begun to think of Pamela in romantic terms once more.

But Pamela is enjoying her independence and wants to get to know herself again. Which of the three suitors (if any) should Pamela choose?

Hilarious 22 Mar 2000
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
On a particularly bad journey involving the Northern Line, I had someone ask me what the book was as although I was being crushed by several thousand commuters who have now been closer to me physically than my husband has for years, I had tears of laughter streaming down my face. As this is the last year of being a thirty-something for me, I found there was hope to go along with the equal measures of disapointment in life.

I recommend it to anyone who thinks they should settle for what they can get before it is too late.

A liberated read 5 April 2001
By Mrs. K. A. Wheatley TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
Cheek blends the perfect amounts of irony and romance to make a witty, funny, thought provoking romance where the woman can be liberated and loving. I love the symmetries of the plot and the fact that she doesn't shy away from making her heroine the wrong side of forty, not terribly glamorous or thin and yet full of passion, life and laughter.

Wonderful, how a mature single woman, although realizing her loneliness, and having more offers than she can handle, still gets on with her life. All three men revealed - the ex, the dashing contemporary, and the younger lover - and all revealed as needing aspects of our Heroine, without really wanting her for what she is. I'm pleased to say that I also believe that the "Happy Ending" can be that the woman gets on with her own life. Far more real life than "she gets her prince charming!" And still enough fantasy involved to be able to say that its an attractive role-model for women in similar positions.
