I bought this CD on a blind purchase, relying on the name to be reflected in the music. It was.
Three Legged Funk is one of the grooviest modern albums I've ever heard. The first track gives you a taste of the excellent sampling skill of Bronx Dogs, and once Tribute To Jazzy Jay kicks in you just want to start dancing its that damn funky.
Other highlights include 212 (the Waya Funk) and Shock Rock, while the funky retro feel remains throughout this consistently excellent record.
Paul Eve left The Wiseguy's before they became famed for that cheesy chart success "Ooh La La" and has excelled in his DJing and producing role duo Bronx Dogs. Richard Sen, the other half, won best new DJ in Muzik mag a couple of years ago, so there's no doubting their combined talent. Maybe the best is yet to come from their imminent album, as this recording is merely a collection of various tracks they've done in the past.
If you like your dance music funky, you'll love this. Its like the best bits of Chemical Brothers perhaps, but all funk and no horrible acid house ruining it. It almost has a french techno sound to it (as its damn funky), but avoids the irritating cheesyness assosciated with the like of Les Rythems Digitales.
A class album that makes you want to become a DJ and mix in every track of this album into your groovy set!
