More About the Author

John Avery is the Amazon bestselling author of the suspense/thrillers, THREE DAYS to DIE (Aaron Quinn thriller series, No. 1), and the new and exciting sequel, BLACK COBRA (Aaron Quinn thriller series, No. 2).

A member of the International Screenwriters' Association, John loves to write stories that force good people into terrifying situations - just to see how they react.

John, a.k.a. J. Robertson Avery, lives in Southern California with his wife, two old dogs, several chickens, and a big happy horse. John recently began writing and illustrating a series of children's picture eBooks, the first of which was released in September, 2014. John has fond memories of reading to his own children when they were young, and knowing how much those intimate moments did for their self-confidence, sense of family and well-being, he continued the tradition for many years. John truly hopes that you and your child will enjoy his children's stories and that you will continue reading together for years to come.

I wouldn't particularly choose to read a novel where the central character is a thirteen year old boy but I am so pleased that I read Three Days to Die. The main character Aaron and his friend, although they are young, come across as real characters - not stereotypical teenagers. They have problems, hopes and fears in their everyday world that compare to any adult.

I flew through this book at quite a lick and that's always a good sign for me, I just kept reading far into the night because the adventure never stops. I particularly liked the part where the boys were locked up in the factory - very descriptive writing. John Avery seems to be able to get under his characters' skins and he hits the emotional button time and time again. The book focuses on themes of loneliness, loss and abandonment at a variety of levels in all of the characters in the book.

So if you enjoy a fast paced thriller with an emotional heart, Three Days to Die is the one for you.

This isn't my usual genre but I thought I'd take a chance (it was free at the time and my Kindle was new!). I'm so glad I read this - fast-paced, not too violent or gory (certainly not gratuitous) and with some poignant moments. Good descriptive writing too, I can easily picture the cannery in my mind - took less than 3 hours to read as I just couldn't put it down. Don't let the fact that the main character is 13 years old, I was cheering him on all the way. I will happily download (and pay for) more books from this author.

A brilliant easy read. Fast-paced and exciting. I read it quickly and could not put it down. The story line was good. I thought it could have been longer with perhaps the mother being taken. I really enjoyed the book, and the characters were superb. Good descriptive text throughout.

I enjoyed this book, I downloaded it for free and wanted something quick to read so started last night at about 7pm and had finished it by about 11pm. I wish I could have given it a five star but it had something missing, and a few pages I found myself skimming the text. I would love to read more adventures of Aaron and Willy and find out if anything happened with Ashley and Michael though.
