Lionsgate can be hit and miss with their movies, however I was pleasantly surprised with this one. Based on the novel by Ted Dekker, it's an interesting story surrounding a clever full-time student Kevin who is targeted by the Riddle Killer. Kevin is played by Marc Blucas, who has played a similar role in another great thriller `The Killing Floor' in 2006. The only problem is that from the beginning, the riddles, traps and especially the voice of RK (Riddle Killer), remind you of Lionsgate's greatest achievement in the SAW franchise. However as the film unfolds the two films do split apart.
There are twists and turns, and by the final credits you will be wanting to watch the film again, in the same way as films like `Fight Club' and `The Sixth Sense'. Make no mistake about it this is a Low Budget film (actually filmed in Poland, but made to look like America) but it is at the top end of Low Budget (as opposed to Lionsgate's quite awful horror `Five Across The Eyes'.
The cover is misleading as it is not a Horror movie, but a psychological thriller more in the vein of Se7en. It's entertaining, and full of interesting characters, and at £2.98 now it's an absolute bargain!
