Synopsis
Freya has spent eight years in Brookridge Mental Hospital for her supposed schizophrenia. She has been hearing incessant, unstoppable voices since her prom night, but now Dr Welles arrives to tell her that she's actually telepathic and not 'crazy' at all. She hears the thoughts of those close by, and Dr Welles attempts to help her focus this weird ability into a useful gift. But Dr Welles is not what he seems, he actually works for the National Security Agency, the largest top secret intelligence agency. Is he about to use Freya's gift for the agency's own ends

3.0 out of 5 stars Thought Crimes, 6 Nov 2004
By Laura Grant "gater101" (Scotland) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
As a huge Joe Flanigan (Brendan Dean) fan, I was rather excited to see this movie: and I wasn't disappointed. His acting was at it's usual best, making viewers laugh and empathise with his character.

However... the lead, Freya McAllister, I'm sorry to say was rather disappointing. She seemed to overact every single detail - right down to basic breathing. Though I must admit, she was really pretty and was sure to gain viewers (much like Joe Flanigan... though I'm not sure 'pretty' works for him... ;)) However, I didn't turn off the movie and persevered throughout and did find that it was enjoyable.

It seems as though there should be "And next week on 'Thought Crimes' as it did seem quite like a pilot to a new series, but as it stands it just a stand alone movie.

An enjoyable movie, but don't count too much on the acting skills of the lead. The supporting actors however, were what made this movie what it was.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good movie to watch, 27 Jan 2009
Joe Flanigan is known for his starrole in Stargate Atlantis. So when I canme across this movie I bought it alone for him and I was not disappointed. He plays a cop who must team up with a girl with special powers. Of course he does not believe it at first.
The female actor is not all that good, but the story line is a fine one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable movie
Personally I don't know why previous reviewers thought the lead female was bad, I thought she was fine. Not as good as she is in Numb3rs, but certainly not awful. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars NOT BAD
I agree with most of what the others have said, it feels like a pilot, laeding lady was weak BUT Mr Flanigan great. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Works as a film
Seems an obvious pilot, but it works as a standalone film as well. Acting good, script ok - good chemistry brought out between the leads. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Go by what it is, not by what it ain't
Clearly, this is a made-for-tv movie without big studios or money behind it but then, with a film like this that's a bit of a sine qua non. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Thoughts...
I agree with one of the other reviewers that it was like a pilot to a series. It was a great idea but the leading lady did spoil it slightly. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable
I enjoyed this enough to buy it; however, it seemed to me to be more along the lines of a pilot to a TV show than a movie - and I know I would have liked it to be that, I think... Read more
