Product Description

Seventeen-year-old Jenn Alistor is a murderer.

For months, she and her brother, Jake, have stayed one step ahead of the FBI. Now Jake is missing, maybe even kidnapped, and Jenn's last hope is a risky deal with the feds: if they'll help her find her brother, she'll turn herself in. But their so-called help comes in the form of 21-year-old Clayton Ford—brother of the guy she killed.

Lives aren't the only thing at stake any more. This is Jenn's one shot at forgiveness. But she has to choose.

Time is running out.

"[F]or those in search of an adrenaline rush in book form, look no further." — Publisher's Weekly*

ABNA Quarter-Finalist 2013

Author's Note: This book was written with older teens and young adults in mind. If it were a film, my guess is that it would be rated PG-13 for thematic elements, violence, drug use, mild language, and some sexual situations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy this book! 30 Nov 2013

Lean, clean, well written and well edited. I read around 7 - 10 books a week and I slog through a lot of free kindle books that need extensive work. This isn't one of them. I prefer books that have well developed characters, a good and hopefully unpredictable plot, a little romance and that also avoid profanity and explicit sex. That can be a tough combination. This book acheives all that and more. While not explicitly Christian, themes of forgiveness in the face of seemingly unforgivable sins dominate. No pat or easy answers are given and the pain and grief of loss is poignantly portrayed. The author is a master of showing not telling. The dialogue flows smoothly. This book is a bargain for free. Snap it up and go along for the ride with Jenn and Clayton as they search for her missing brother and the truth. If you like Dee Henderson, DiAnn Mills or Kristen Heitzman, you will love this book. I sincerely look forward to more by this author.

4.0 out of 5 stars An Action-packed and Intriguing Read 9 Sep 2013

I was lucky enough to have a chance to read an early version of this book, so I wasn't surprised when it was selected as a finalist for the Amazon Break-Out Novel Award. I'm SO glad to see it in print now!

It's an intriguing story with real emotion. My favorite kind of suspense, because it's full of action and never stops moving forward, but does have a thread of romance and the reveal of an emotional backstory too.

I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good, solid contemporary with an unique premise. There's no heart-fluttering insta-love here. There's history between the main characters and genuine intrigue in the events that have brought them together. You won't regret taking the time to delve in - after all, how many teenage murderers do we get to follow around (and learn to love?).

4.0 out of 5 stars Best Indie I've Read In A LONG Time 5 Feb 2014

Well, after reading that amazing blurb, I knew that I had to get this book. And I was definitely not disappointed; this was definitely one of the best stories I read this month. I will admit that Those Who Trespass is not a book I would normally read; I am rather undernourished in the thriller genre. But this book was so good that I am really starting to regret that!

I L-O-V-E-D Jenn and Clayton. They were such fleshed out characters, which has been something hard to come by in the books I've read lately. Jenn's guilt is so strongly showed but at the same time she's so much more than simply a guilty murderer; it was just...perfect. And Clayton...Melody Valadez did such a good job portraying his emotional turmoil. It was so amazing. Ugh, I can't even describe how great it was.

And the action....oh my gosh, it was the best! I love when a book starts out with some action. It gets me into the story almost instantly. And this book had some GREAT action.

If there was one thing I could say wasn't great with this book, it was the romance between Clayton and Melody. It was sweet and Clayton was basically the most amazing boy ever, but at the same time...Melody murdered his brother. And you are going to go and date this person? I found it unrealistic, but at the same time I liked it. My feelings are very conflicted right now.

So to wrap this review up...well, just go and read the book!

Wow! I would have never guessed that this was the author's first book. I really enjoyed the story and the characters. Living in Texas, you can't beat a Texas setting either. I can't wait to see what's next for this author.
