Book Description

31 Aug 2012
Metalheads of the world have screamed it out - and we've heard your call! Bruce Moore and the crew at Safkhet Publishing are proud to introduce the main gig - For Those About To Cook - Pure Metal. Focused entirely on metal musicians and their appetites for destruction, Pure Metal brings you delectable dishes that'll make your stomach rumble louder than Bumblefoot's Vigier Excalibur. Pure Metal features not only all your favorite metal bands from the original metal cookbook, For Those About To Cook, but also a whole anthology of metal bands including rock legends Poison, Lizzy Borden, and Twisted Sister, and introducing Bolero, Exodus, Full Force, and Gravedigger... to name a few. Music journalist and metalhead Bruce Moore (see right) pulls out all the stops to bring you bios, private pics and really killer recipes that'll tantalize your taste buds.

5.0 out of 5 stars A recipe book with a difference. 29 Mar 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this book on Kindle, great to use in the kitchen and ready to use in seconds . The recipes are varied and easy to follow and clearly written. I also love the information about the bands and the people who have shared their recipes, a definite bonus and interesting to read. My favourite meal so far is 'Pasta El Fullforzo' from Mike Andersson. So many more dishes on my list to try.
Excellent value for money.

No down sides or disappointments at all. I will definitely be looking out for more books written like this.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love the book, recipes, band infos! 18 Sep 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Just so you know if up front: I am the editor of this book.
Originally, I had the idea to make a book like this but I had no idea whatsoever how to contact the bands. Then along came Bruce. Godsend, one could say, because he had the same idea AND knew the bands! He had put together the first book which we all were very excited about.
We ran recipe tests, cooked just about every dish in the book and tried to come up with a good cookbook all around the recipes and bands. We thought we'd done it but it did not fly off the shelves. So we thought long and hard and realized two things:
it was too expensive and
it was not just heavy metal.
We fixed both issues, made it a paperback to save some money and included solely metal bands.
Bruce went back to the drawing board, rewrote some intros, gathered more recipes and now, we can proudly presents PURE METAL, which is as we think, all it needs to be. For those who own a Kindle, we even made it an eBook, without the pictures. That way, commuting metal heads can pick their next meal on the train, run to the store, get the ingredients and then cook the grub at home!
We love it and we hope you love it too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Book, Why have you not got it yet? 31 Aug 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Want to eat like Sabaton? How about finding out what Rickki Rocket created for his sons breakfast? Want to read a book full of recipes that your favourite bands like to cook or find out what sort of food they eat when at home, or on the road? This is the book for you, filled with information, pictures and quotes about each contributing band and band member, of which there are more than 50, and including a huge selection of different recipes from the really simple and easy to the fiddly, or unusual, and theres even the downright odd ones, and they cater for all different tastes, including raw, vegetarian and vegan. Ther's starters, snacks, drinks, main courses and deserts, they all look yummy! I have already made the Brutally Delicious Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies from Scythia (and they WERE brutally delicious!)I'm going to try the Sister Sin Semifreddo by Liv Jagrell soon, and also the Korpiklaani Roast, when i can lay my hands on some reindeer meat.
There is something for everyone, and even if you don't cook a lot then its a good read with some nice pictures, and a good way to read about some old favourites and learn about new bands. A must for metalheads who like to cook!
