Not in a thousand years would I think about writing a product review on dental floss. What for, they're all the same, aren't they? Well, yeah, but... "Thornton 3-in-1" dental floss has a few advantages over the typical `waxed-string' floss. First advantage: NO WAX! Instead, you get #200, pre-cut, 'dental-grade' string-floss that actually cleanses the teeth of tarter as well as just removing food particles from between the teeth. Yep, just like a visit to the dental hygienist; well, almost. The second big plus is that half of each pre-cut dental floss has a thicker, soft and smooth, surface. This half is also absorbable so you can dip it into a antiseptic oral rinse. My dentist prescribed a medical grade dental rinse and recommended "Thornton" dental floss for this purpose. Now for the important part (HINT): Amazon usually has 'THE' best prices on the internet, but not always. Google this guy and you'll find a better deal, like under five dollars! Bottom line: recommended and worth the price and the extra effort. Oh, I have no idea what number "3" item is. Have to think about it and will let you know.
THE MOMENT OF TRUTH--(March 31, 2013)--came when it was time to re-order. Revealing a product's true worth comes if the user is willing to buy the same product again, which in this case, I am not. FIVE STARS DOWN TO THREE: Not to dissuade you from trying Thornton dental floss, if you have particular need; which I did, but don't now (still have to have dental surgery in June, so). I regret if my early 5-star review mislead you, that was not my intent. My best advice is to read internet product reviews with one eyebrow raised high. Just as I did, many people who write reviews do so with their own private agenda, both pro and con. Those private agenda may or may not have anything to do with reality. So speaketh, Bill Hilly
HOLD ON (August 4, 2013) Dental floss, yeah right, but I just reordered Thornton 3-in-1 Floss. So, it's back to FOUR STARS; but, that's as far as I'm gonna go. Although Thornton's Floss has the added advantage of tarter control, my complaint is the less than desirable packaging. Yep, the strings do not get tangled up, exactly, but they still get messy in my bathroom drawer. The easy way to keep them, sorta, near is to repack then into a zip-lock sandwich bag. That works for me, and so does 3-in-1.
DENTAL FLOSS MAY NOT BE A NECESSITY, OR INCONVENIENT (07/19/14) Again the story takes a sharp right. Only a month ago I finally ordered a Waterpik Professional Water Flosser, Aquarius, and, I haven't needed sting floss since. It's that good, and that easy, and that fast. Needless to say, I like it. Oh my wife, not sure, she said something about "I'm becoming addicted". Don't know, but for $71.66 Amazon Prime delivered, I think it's worth it.
