I've been listening to all the volumes in this BBC Series and i must say this latest volume had sadly bored me, Michael Angelis narrates softly and quietly like he had a sore throat (Must be all the loud oomph he put into recording Hero of the Rails unless he did that after the recording of these stories). But i do feel sorry for him.
However this isn't the only time I've heard Michael Angelis narrate in a soft tone, 1993 he recorded a story and song album on Cassette about Thomas and the Best Kept Station Competition and he narrates quietly through the story, good thing the songs helped turn the volume up, and he did a better job on Surprise Adventures in 1998.
Onto the stories the back sleeve on the CD has an error descripted
"The Twin Engines": the Fat Controller orders an extra engine to help out, but is surprised when two engines arrive instead. Will Duncan or Douglas get to stay?
That should be DONALD and Douglas, but it was nice for Angelis to narrate "The Missing Coach" that was filmed in the Thomas Series but never completed; only a few photos remain of the episode.
The 6th volume was meant to come out in 2010 but was pushed back to 2011 as the first three volumes were rereleased in a slipcase; i hope Angelis will narrate with a better voice when Branch Line Engines is released.
As for the songs they were good but still they arn't all original, only the song "Never Never Never Give Up" is the only original song used in this series.
Let's hope for the best for Branch Line Engines and other Stories.....
