Product Description
In this all-new Thomas & Friends 60 minute film, Thomas gets the honour of travelling to the mainland to collect special wood needed to help build the new Search and Rescue Centre. There is no room on the boat so Thomas has to be pulled along on a raft. During the journey the chain breaks from the raft and Thomas wakes to find himself in a strange place called 'Misty Island'. While looking for a way to get back to Sodor, Thomas meets three new friends known as the 'Logging Locos', they want to help Thomas return to Sodor. Will the engines on Sodor be able to find their missing friend?

Once again a superb film after 'Hero of the Rails.' Any film that encourages my 4 year old to want to read the book is good. Makes a pleasant change - no play fighting or guns. Pure fun and make believe. Don't know why anyone would complain! My son's vocabulary is far beyond his four years thanks to Thomas. He undestands the words 'alliance' 'united' and disgruntled! It has helped listen and retell a story in detail. Education cleverly disguised! Also good to combine with Pre school Thomas educational books.

Like so much of the more recent Thomas stuff, this is riddled with intensely irritating rhyming- my two year old, who is Thomas mad - got up and left this less than halfway through, she just did not like it. I am obviously in the minority on this but Thomas just is not what he used to be; the camp voices, the bulging eyes and inane rhymes not to mention the gaffs (how on earth did the engines turn round in the tunnel?????????) Ah well! If this is what children like who am I to criticise?

great dvd for thomas fans
my 2 1/2yr old son loves this dvd, as does my 4 1/2yr old. if it was their choice it would be played on repeat!! yes there is a few songs in it but they dont seem to mind. Read more

Misty Island Rescue
This movie is a great Thomas movie, but my 2 year still loves Hero of the rails the most. If I let him he would watch it again and again.

A film that could be a little scary in places for young children
My just turned 4yr old son watched this film and had crying hysterics at the near begining of the film when diesel nearly fell off the track due to some (wierd) selfish behaviour. Read more

Great Film
My 3 year old has watched this DVD so much it has stopped working and he was devastated. Thank goodness I could find it again. He will go crazy on Christmas Day

Thomas is on Top Form again....
My 4 year old got this for his Birthday and being a huge Thomas fan he couldn't wait to watch it. He sits glued to the TV whenever it's on and knows all the characters. Read more

Bad on every level
Rhyming, repetition, alliteration, poor writing, poor railway realism, APALLING moral values. If you want these things, then by all means show this to your kids. Read more
