In a daring race with the ever boastful Spencer, Thomas discovers an abandoned engine, Hiro. Hiro comes from a far off place, and appears to need help.

Fun:
I bought this game for my 4 years old boy who is a big fan of Thomas the tank.
I am very happy with the game. It has 8 activities such as painting Thomas, sorting parts or racing the engines and many different characters from the show. The graphics are very good for a DS game I have to say.
My son really enjoys the game and he always laught when he finishes a level. It is a game with a lot of replay value too.
Highly recommended for any Thomas' fans!

Fun:
I bought the Hero of the Rails DS game to try and encourage my 11 year old autistic son to play his DS, which he got last Christmas opened and put it in a drawer. He has always been a big Thomas fan so I thought I'd dust the DS down and give it a go.
We sat down together and worked out what to do. Harvey got the hang of it pretty quickly and enjoyed maybe 5 full minutes the first time. This is a result for a child who also has A.D.D. Who knows one day he may sit still and concentrate with time.
But we are off the mark and I dream of the day when I can say, "Harvey you've been on that DS for far too long".
I have given the game 4/5 because it took the game makers far too long to bring a Thomas game out but secretly give it 6/5 for getting there in the end.
All budding Thomas fans will like it and suss it out very quickly.

This was the game that came with the new Nintendo Dsi XL that I purchased for my 6yr old son. He is autistic and unable to read.
He has had endless hours of fun on this game and so has his 2yr old brother.
It is based around the latest DVD release 'Hero of the Rails', which they also love. You can chose from the story or games options...the story is interactive and is narrated as it is on the DVD.
There is no need for a child to be able to read when playing this game, as instructions are given verbally by the narrator. I think this is why it has been such a hit with my sons!
Definitely not a disappointment in this household :)
