When the train is moving backwards, Thomas will make a “Chuh-Chuh-Chuh-Chuh” sound. The funnel lights up, too. The Easy-go Thomas Remote Control Vehicle is suitable for ages 18 months and up and requires 5 x AA batteries (not included)--three are used in the remote control vehicle and two in the engine.

This is a well made, robust toy suitable for a young Thomas fan (age 1-2 I would say). The remote control is very simply a circular handset with two buttons - one to go forward and one to go back. When Thomas moves forwards he plays the tune from the tv series and when he moves back he makes a "chuff chuff" noise. There is no way to direct Thomas left or right when he is travelling forwards, but when he reverses, he goes round in a large circle. Older children can utilise this fact together with some shunting back and forth in order to direct him, though younger ones may have difficulty. It doesn't seem too battery hungry, and Thomas at least peeps to remind you if you have left him switched on.

Excellent toy! My 4 year old twins enjoy the Thomas remote train. The remote is easy to handle and only has two buttons, forward and backward, however the train can go in circles when pressing the back button. The train makes a toot toot sound right before the train stops. Also plays the instrumental Thomas theme song, taught my son with Autism how to hum the song. No wires, sturdy, works indoors and outside, batteries last a long time, great price for a remote toy. Highly recommend!

This toy has been a huge hit for our son who loves all things with wheels. It is durable and easy to use. He was so excited when he figured out he could drive it at 15 months. My only complaint is when it is not being used for a while, but is still on it goes into a sleep-like state where it can not be used again until I flip the switch from on, to off, and back on again.

My three and a half year old grandson told Santa he would like Thomas the Train for Christmas, but with no other specifics we we're grasping in the dark for which of the hundreds of Thomas items he meant. I saw this simple remote controlled Thomas on Amazon, the price was decent, so hoped for good stuff to happen!
Jaden was ecstatic! It took a little while for him to understand the remote and how it worked the train, but now he gets such a big thrill from "dancing" to it's music and watching it go around and around!! He'll send it behind you if you stand in one place too long to try and surprise you (forgetting that we all can hear the music). Thomas joins us on the sofa while watching a Thomas video. Thomas now has his own special "House" container so that he and his remote are never lost in the toybox. Thomas and the remote seem very sturdy; have been dropped on the tile floor more than once.
The first thing Jaden told his preschool teacher the first day back from the holidays was "Santa Brought me Thomas the Train!!!" This is definately a 5 star toy!!
