5.0 out of 5 stars Calm, insightful... a spiritual classic 29 July 2010
Format:Paperback
What a truly wonderful book, brimming with practical insights into insight. Buddhist truths are universal and here a wonderful, respected teacher tells it like it is. The book is compiled from talks given in retreats, and there is one obvious conclusion: walk the path, investigate, test things out, and here is a great lamp shining for you, pointing the way ahead. Don't miss the opportunity to learn.

5.0 out of 5 stars inspirational teaching 28 Dec 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Found this book to be very insightful and not overly technical. Many aspects of the book covers the practice of the Mahasi Sayadaw Vipassana meditation techniques and I would advise the reader to have some prior knowledge of this practice before purchasing.

The book is well written and the techniques and teaching can be easily applied to every day life. I would highly recommend to anyone who is trying to further their practice and to improve understanding of the Buddhas teaching.
