5.0 out of 5 stars Another great Outing 2 May 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Has there ever been a bad "Green On Red" record? I don't think so. I'm a fan, I admit that freely; but I miss them everyday. A reunion of this band would so much more interesting, than so much of the timewasting rubbish, that hit the shelves nowadays. I will not sound like a bitter old man (I am though!), so just go and buy this one and everything you can get your grabby paws on, Green On Red rules!

4.0 out of 5 stars the weaknesses are overshadowed by the strengths 3 Jun 2000
By Johnny Roulette - Published on Amazon.com
This isn't one of Green On Red's top records, but it is a must-have for your collection. Any weak tracks will be forgiven at this low price! You will find two of the best Green On Red songs of all-time here. They are You Couldn't Get Arrested & the horribly tragic & haunting Good Patient Woman. I've been listening to this release since it came out and I've got to tell you that Good Patient Woman still sends chills down my arm. Hold The Line & The Quarter(Marie Laveau) are the other two real standouts on this disc. This is post-Killer Inside Green On Red, so keep in mind that you are getting Dan Stuart, Chuck Prophet(played with Kelly Willis), & some hired guns. The great songs here are more than enough to carry their weak sisters through. You might very well enjoy This Time Around at full-price, but it's a lock at this price.

3.0 out of 5 stars Post heroin means walk away 14 Dec 2000
By kendyZdad - Published on Amazon.com
By the time this record got made, Dan Stuart had already trashed his mind and his song-writing with heroin, and he never got it back. This is a weak album with no great songs. There are some brilliant records by Green on Red like Gas Food Lodging that should be heard and kept for all time, but this is not one of them.
If you are looking for later great music, check out Chuck Prophet's later work. He is the guitarist that makes this album listenable, and has grown as a songwriter in the past decade since Green on Red went to its final reward.
4.0 out of 5 stars don't overlook this one! 13 July 2013

Okay, this isn't the best Green on Red album, not by a longshot. But it's definitely one to check out if you are a fan of their other albums. I would take exception with the reviewer who said there aren't any great songs on here. Ah, but there are! One of the band's very best tunes, "You Couldn't Get Arrested" is on here. Also, the title cut, "Good Patient Woman" and "We're All Waiting" rank up there with some of their finest efforts too. Sure, there are a few clunkers, and "Pills and Booze" is just silly, but like the other reviewer noted, the good stuff more than compensates for the duds. It's nice to see that Chuck Prophet has gone on to make some excellent music on his own, but I'd love to see Dan Stuart make a comeback. I think he's got more great music in him. I really miss his rock 'n roll spirit and his Neil Young swagger.
