I saw Benjamin live yesterday and he played some of the pieces on this cd. I have had to think hard before writing this for fear of exaggeration. But for me (and this must always be personal) he is among the greatest pianists I have ever heard either recorded or live.I saw Rubinstein live in the 80's. And I have always loved Brendel. He is already (at 17) of this stature. The cd is breathtakingly accomplished; his technique seems flawless and there is no greater musicality than you will find here. He seems most at home with Romantic music, particularly Chopin; the melodies are crisp and sonorous, the tones from the piano are remarkably beautiful. The Kapustin (which I didn't know) is performed playfully, excitingly, brilliantly -- mixing ragtime, jazz, broadway etc in an inextricable mix. I like the Scarlatti least but it is still rewarding listening. He is only 17 but has the musical sensibility of mature genius.

I have both discs by Mr Grosvenor and I must admit the Decca production is a confirmation of his talents. This disc is a massive affirmation of the talent that this genial unaffected young man has. I played the disc whilst starting a new painting, so I concentrated fully on the sound whilst my hands were occupied. As usual I heard every note. I heard the Albeniz as if minted new and really felt the Spanishness of this music. Loved the Kapustin, the Grainger / Gershwin was delicious. I wonder who put this great selection togehter - I felt it was more inspired than the Decca choices - sorry Benjamin if they were all yours - this is not meant to diminish the more recent disc. Well I am putting space aside, a whole section, and look forward to filling it with more great recordings. By the way thank you for the Chopin, minted new and the wonderfull Scarlatti.

After reading the review in the "Gramophone" magazine (April 2010) I decided to purchase this CD. Although I am not an expert, I believe him to be one of the most talented pianists around. I would definitely recommend you to purchase. I can guarantee you will NOT be disappointed! Happy listening!

He is a brilliant pianist and would recommend him to my friends who appreciate classical music. He was an outstanding pianist when I saw him at the Newbury festival back in May, and that's why I would rate with 5*. Thank you and best regards.

Did not know this young Pianist, untill he played at the "Proms" this year. So was keen to hear this recording, having seen other reviews. Certainly one to enjoy his progress, and British too!

This is a wonderfully inspired recital by the 16 years old, showcasing surprisingly mature artistry and exquisite playing of Chopin, Scarlatti, Albeniz plus brilliant renditions of interesting virtuoso pieces by Kapustin, Cziffra and more. What impressed me most is the rich musicality of his playing - the rare ability to breathe a new life into whatever pieces he plays. A promising talent, no doubt, who has potential to become a great pianist of this century.
