Product Description

Product Description

‘This Tangled Web’ is one woman’s journey from victim to survivor. It is the untangling of a web created by the pain of childhood sexual abuse. The author brings you to the centre of the web through her poetry and art, allowing you to see the journey through her eyes. This book has been written with other survivors in mind. It was always Kate’s desire to one day use her poetry for the benefit of other survivors. Remembering her own unquenchable thirst for knowledge and something to relate to…this is one woman’s attempt to untangle the web and help other survivors to achieve this too.

This Tangled Web 25 Nov 2010
Format:Paperback
This is a review I have done for my website.

"Kate is a survivor of child abuse who uses her work to try and help other survivors. She was abused by her brother and like too many; this pain was added to by her parents in the way they dealt with or... didn't deal with the abuse in an appropriate way. She gives you an insight into her childhood through the poetry she wrote at the time and since, which she also used for and in her therapy. The book is divided into several sections dealing with; disclosure, Self Harm, Suicidal feelings and more. There is also some of Kate's Survivor artwork throughout and at the end of the book too. Like many survivors although Kate has come far she admits she still has her days when she has to work through it. For most survivors it is a continuous journey, but one she now journeys to help herself and others."

A Tangled Web Indeed 23 Sep 2010
Format:Paperback
Not an easy read at all, but well worth sticking with it. Take my advice, read it in small chunks otherwise it might overwhelm you. Some real heartfelt, raw feeling, but congratulations to Kate Swift for producing this, it must have taken courage. Buy it, give it a try - you will not be disappointed, and it shows how things can be overcome and sorted out.

Beautiful 4 Sep 2010
Format:Kindle Edition
Kate, What can i say... I bought your book yesterday. I couldn't put it down it was so easy to read as I could associate with so many of your poems. The hurt, the sorrow. I love the way you have arranged the book, It flows. Your one feisty wee lady to have come through it all the kind caring compassionate lady that you are. I met Kate at a survivor rally briefly, I already knew of her website & had her as a facebook friend. Nothing had prepared me for the book I opened. It was Fabulous. You have a talent ... keep it up. You worked through it all & I for one am proud to call you a friend. You are a survivor & your book is brilliant :)When i got to the end I no longer saw a hurt innner child I saw a feisty lady. liz x
