5.0 out of 5 stars gardens making history, 1 Nov 2005
This is a fabulous way of getting to know British history and culture through gardens. The combination of the passionate endeavour of the gardeners and the motivations of estate owners really brings alive the making of these beautiful gardens. Intrigue, power, and competition is as much part of the story as horticulture and botany. Gripping!
