5.0 out of 5 stars This Mighty Isle, 8 Oct 2011
This review is from: This Mighty Isle (Shadow of the Tor) (Kindle Edition)
It is refreshing to have certain aspects of the Arthurian legend, which are not normally brought to the fore without somehow being subservient to that canonical myth. The pace is well managed too, with enough rhythmic variation to carry it through to the end.
Further more, the various epic conventions in play here usually work very well-much of the time one feels as though one were reading a translation of an earlier piece of writing.

It is refreshing to have certain aspects of the Arthurian Legend which are not normally told brought to the fore without somehow being subservient to that conical canonical myth. The pace is well managed too, with enough rhythmic variations to carry it through to the end. Further more, the various epic conventions in play here usually work very well much of the time, one feels as though one were reading a translation of an earlier piece of writing. So congratulations on all these successes.
