I suffered from PPD/OCD 2 years ago...This is the wonderful book that helped me through a very difficult time in my life. This book is so informative from recognizing your symptoms to coping strategies to finding the right help. The list of medications and possible side effects were more helpful then any information I recieved from my own physician. The individual stories give you comfort in letting you know that you are not alone in this illness. The book makes you realize that this is a very treatable condition and the way you are feeling is temporary...It helped me jump in the shower, get dressed and put makeup on even if I was staying in all day...it make me feel better about myself....I was able to explain to my husband what I was going thru from the understanding I recieved from reading this book... I would recommend it to anyone out there...Thank you for writing this wonderful book and for understanding this condition..

I did not realise that pp stress was a condition, I knew I didn't have depression, but I knew I wasn't 100% right either- this book is reassuring, professional and a life saver. It helps you to assess why you are how you are, and why you should not feel guilty and helps you to change the stuff that you need to - it also tells you which things you need to seek professional help for and for me the book was just what I needed, the other books on PPd are also good and certainly worth reading but this one is invaluable.

I read this book during and after an Episode of PPD. It comforted me to learn that what I was feeling was felt by others and I was not alone. It gave me an understanding of what was happening to me and gave me hope that I would get better. It was filled with facts about PPD and different treatments. It was written with compassion and wisdom. I truly found it to be a lifesaver!!!!

As a woman who has experienced PPD after the birth of my son, I found this book to be most helpful in understanding what I was going through. This will help others who are dealing with postpartum depression know that they are not alone, and there is help out there.

this book came at a time when i didn't know who to turn to and i was at my wits end with 3 children under 4 and a half years old. my temper was unpredictable and i felt like the female form of incredible hulk! i don't live near any family and my husband ( home at 6 and out to the farm) and my childminder ( one morning a week but will build it up for going back to work in a month or two) are the only help i have. this book gave me the strength to go to my doctor who suggested the nhs website beatingtheblues ( your doc will sort it), so far i like where the therapy is going. the book reassures you as you can recognise yourself in much of it.

I had an awful time with PPD and would have NEVER fully recovered if it weren't for Karen's book!...It was a life saver. I must say, the section for the spouses is TERRFIC!! My husband was able to help me in so many ways. THANK YOU KAREN!!
