wow! 17 Feb 2004
Format:Audio CD
This is a deliriously catchy song - somehow it sounds completely innocent and passionate at the same time. It is a simple song that could have been unremarkable if released by another band, but Keane make it work brilliantly. The vocals change from fragile to powerful and then back again, which is what makes this song so sublime. Apart from Tom Chaplin, I think the only person who could possibly have pulled it off is Fran Healy from Travis.

Based on this and their other two singles, my guess is that by the time the album comes out in May, Keane will have gained a lot more fans, and deservedly so!

Most exciting 20 Sep 2003
Format:Audio CD
A *much* better song than Everybody's Changing, this has an impeccable melody and is certainly a live favourite. The only problem is that this single version sounds slightly overproduced, which is quite an unusual feat in a home studio. If you listen to the 6 music sessions from May that simplicity actually suited this song better. Tom's voice as ever sounds more heartbreaking than anyone else around. The B-sides, especially the beautiful Allemande, highlight this. Just wait until Bedshaped or Somewhere Only We Know is released by Universal. They will go stellar, and quite right too. A note for all you collecty types: this *will* go up in value.

It is fair to say that Keane have had a great year so far, they've produced a classic album, and brought us numerous excellent singles, this song just continues the trend. Like most Keane songs, this one also has that 'Classic' feel to it. It combines great vocals and memorable lyrics with a very well produced piano melody.
