The book has two distinct parts. Part II - a "citizenship and history overview" - covers far too much ground and ends up being superficial and disjointed. Part 1 - a "depth study" - is more rigourous and worth exploring.

An excellent book and teaching aid. Love the way of teaching pupils about historiography. Also very good sources to use as well.

This is easily the worst of Dale Banham's textbooks. Generally, his textbooks and accompanying activities are of a good quality, but unfortunately King John is too complex, contains far too much text and is poorly structured. Teaching King John using this textbook can be very difficult, especially with Year 7s.
