God, it's awful, 4 Jun 2004

This review is from: This is Ecstasy (Addiction) (Paperback)
As a student pharmacologist, I purchased `This is Ecstasy' from Amazon expecting a concise, professional discussion of the drug and rave culture. Unfortunately, the book is written in a flippant, almost juvenile tone, littered with excruciating puns and bad jokes. The first half of the book is an interminable and largely irrelevant discussion about dance culture - including slang and drug details that were probably out of date even before the book was published.
I'm sorry to sound so negative, but I really feel this book is decidedly amateur. I can't recommend it to anyone.
(By contrast, I do recommend 'This is Cannabis', another book in the same series.)

Terrible..., 3 Oct 2011

This book was comically horrible. If you want to buy it so you can laugh at what you will read, you might be on to something. However, if you are buying it because you actually want to learn some facts, I think quick Google search will teach you much more. This book also contains many spelling and word usage errors. It astounds me that this was able to see print.

Inacurate, Poorly Edited, 2 May 2011

I read this book because of my good experiences with "This is Cannabis", unfortunately this was a mistake.
I found this book to be poorly written. I think that a much more professional tone with less spin and more factual data would have been nice, the author is certainly biased. There were a number of grammar and spelling errors I ran into when reading this book and I feel as if the author/editor was in a rush when creating this literature.
