WOW what an album this is,soon as you play a space in between it's kicks off with a bang and carries on through out.If your into bands like new found glory, four year strong and halifax then this cd is for you.
It's also worth checking out there other album we all need a reason to believe because that is a very good album, not so upbeat but still good.

I wish I was as talented as these guys from Philadelphia. Valencia is amazing. For anyone who likes good music, BUY THIS ALBUM! Great guitar work, good layering, Shane's voice is awesome, and they all seem to feed off of each other. It's hard to pick a favorite song, but I guess I'd have to go with 'The Space Between.' Honorable mentions include pretty much the entire album. One of the best things about Valencia is that their songs don't all sound the same. So pick it up, it's amazing. From 'The Space Between' to 'Away We Go,' there isn't a song you'll want to skip. A complete album, highly recommended.

HASH(0x95070534) out of 5 stars Think: Old school NFG with a new twist! 12 April 2006

When I finally gave this LP a good listen, I struggled to think of who this band sounded exactly like. Their melodies and vocals were clearly familiar and definitely not astranged from a lot of bands I was familiar with, but I struggled to find an artist who's sound was exactly on the same page as Valencia. Their songs are loud, aggressive, and reminiscent of bands like Cartel, A Small Victory, or anything on the Drive-Thru roster, but their genuine lyrics and energetic, blasting guitars are much louder and driving than any of those bands.

"The Space Between," initially starts and persists as a straight forward pop-punk jam, and I was always relatively bored with it--until I let the track slide till the end. The pleasant hook and layered vocal outro croons, "is it in me, to put the bottle down" with familiar vocal harmonies and melodies. And the same familiar draw is found in the track "The Closest I Am To Living Life On The Edge," with a brilliant shimmering breakdown and rampent guitars and vocals: "what's ordinary!!!" he sings. The band showcases a nice ability to finger-tap and go metal on "What Are You Doing Man? That's Weird!" and again on "How Will We Ever Know How?" with blasting, super high-energy guitars and dropping basslines. Truly, in this powerful track, the band finally hit me in the face, as they exposed their ability to play in familiar territory that was reminiscent and comforting.

Valencia aren't doing anything special. I won't pretend this is the first time I have heard a band like Valencia, but their brutal walls of guitars and ability to sing and croon like it's 2001 has a sense of redeeming value to it. I'd strongly recommend picking this up if you were into the early pop-punk scene, and fans of albums like "Take This To Your Grave" or "New Found Glory" will be strangely pleased with the pleasant ground this band is exploring. I'm excited to see their future endeavors, and as the band states, their reinvention of an old, appreciated art could be a possibility.

Considering that pop-punk music has been on a steady decline in popularity since 2004, you just don't expect new bands to embrace the sound so whole heartedly. Stepping into 'this could be a possibility' is like traveling thru time, going all the way back to when NFG, allister and Blink were at the top of their game. While it's true that the 10 songs here go by much too fast for a full length, that shouldn't take away from the appeal. 'this could be a possibility' is worth every penny, even if it is only 28 minutes long. Fans of Drive Thru Records, Blink 182 and Green Day circa 2001 should get to know Valencia right away.

'Hit the lights' on 'Cartel' and send 'Fall out Boy' to an 'All Time Low' on your playlist, cuz Valencia is taking back the genre with style!

HASH(0x95070e1c) out of 5 stars Bless my little 16 year old heart. 29 Jan. 2015

I was going through some older purchases on Amazon, and I found this one, right at the end of the year in 2006. I was going through a big pop punk revival during that period in my life. Listening to all the happening and pop-hoppining bands around. I had All Time Low, Panic! At the Disco, Mayday Parade, The Starting Line, The Maine, A Rocket to the Moon, etc. on my constant rotation. I’m giggling a little at the thought of it all.

I bought this CD because Valencia was playing a show at the local downtown hangout spot where bands played (since closed down), it was either with Mayday Parade or All Time Low. I generally tried to get a handle on other artists that were playing with bands I saw since I felt like they deserved the love too.

Well, I was pretty much obsessed with this CD back in the day. Even now, 8 years later, I’ll get a hankering for Valencia and I’ll play it, purely for nostalgic reasons. Though it’s been years since I’ve ever seen them live, they must have had enough of a presence for me to continue to listen to their CD. I would have remembered it if they sucked live (I’m looking at you, The Secret Handshake). At any rate, the songs are beautiful, catchy, and well-written. I think my most listened to tracks were The Space Between and Tenth Street.

And though this band may have never truly become “the next big thing”, I’d rate this 5 stars because it’s still a CD I enjoy listening to.
