5.0 out of 5 stars An all-time favourite, 25 Jun 2001
By A Customer
I have just bought this on CD after wearing out my old vynal version. One of the greatest albums of the '80s, but still sounds like it could have been recorded yesterday. They do not get any better than E-MC2.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rap'n'rock'n'punk'n'reggae, 23 Nov 2000
By A Customer
The Clash merged punk and reggae - when Mick Jones (and Don Letts) headed off to BAD they took the whole lot and merged it with the rap/hip hop that was exploding at the time. The excitement and energy of "This is BAD" is a reminder of the past and a promise for the future - original music that still remembers the key elements of guitar, rhythm and FUN. E=MC2 and Medicine Show were hits, but there's plenty of good stuff on here - and once you've heard it, you'll be ready to go back to London Calling, or forward to 10 Upping Street or Megatop Phoenix, to name just a few

5.0 out of 5 stars Life After The Clash, 26 May 2007
By Chris C "manxdude87" (United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
(TOP 1000 REVIEWER)
After the unceremonious sacking of Mick Jones from The Clash, one of two things occured, The Clash were reduced to going on busking tours and Big Audio Dynamite began to overshadow the group during that period. This is probably due to the fact that with punk music long dead, BAD had arrived at the right time.

Fusing reggae, disco, dub and rock guitar, BAD's self titled debut as sorts is the sounds of the 80's, which whilst may sound dated today, remains a classic. Jones' cockney style voice is on form, his guitar playing is still good as ever, but it certainly proves that when he was fired by Strummer and Simonon, it resulted in the demise of the Clash.

Featuring the classics Medicine Show, E=MC2 and The Bottom Line, this is a feel good album plain and simple. It may not be widely recognised like The Clash, this along with The Mescaleroes is a note worthy purchase.
