By A Customer
Format:Paperback
‘This is the Bear’ is an excellent book. It is a lovely engaging story about a boy who goes in search of his lost teddy bear. The pictures are very clear and very funny. Sarah Hayes writes in a way that makes it easy for children to remember the story and soon they will be reading with you.

5.0 out of 5 stars My son's favorite bedtime story! 7 Jun 2000
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
This rhyming story is delightful and short enough to suit small children's attention span. The illustrations are perfect for the story and allow lots of words to be learnt as little fingers point to different things. My husband and I both know this by heart but it is much more fun to read together and discover things each time. I highly recommend it for a first book and the rhyming is soothing enough to make babies sleepy at bedtime!

5.0 out of 5 stars very enjoyable 13 Mar 2001
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
This is the bear is a rhyming story suitable for young children. I have read it to my children many times and have not yet got bored with it. The illustrations are delightful and tell the story themselves. It has been a special book for my children at bedtime and only takes a few minutes to read. I can recommend this book to all parents of very young children, it is easy to read, quick and quite amusing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh dear - a recipe for disaster with 28 Jan 2008
Format:Hardcover
a lovable bear, his owner, a mischievous dog and a bin!

But............ don't worry - it is all right in the end!

With 30 high quality shiny pages, this rhyming story is set out in the popular 2-page spread format with endearing pastel illustrations throughout.

Bold text at the bottom of each page makes it easy to follow for the younger reader and short speech bubbles further enhance the story, providing more great opportunities for reader emphasis.

Examples of text:-

`This is the bear who fell in the bin.
This is the dog who pushed him in.
This is the man who picked up the sack.
This is the driver who would not come back......'

With the use of easy to repeat text, this delightful book is sure to be a popular choice from the bookshelf, time and time again!

My 2 year old son absolutely loves this book. In fact he would have me reading it night after night. All the books about the bear are good.
