**Debuted on the USA TODAY Best-seller list!**

Book five in the USA Today Bestselling Rose Gardner series!

There's no denying trouble finds Rose Gardner like a divining rod finds water, especially when Rose finds herself in the middle of a bank robbery. But after the robbers steal her deposit bag—containing a large amount of cash—she soon finds out that thanks to her sister Violet’s financial mismanagement, trouble is threatening her business as well.

To top it off, Rose’s ex-boyfriend Joe Simmons has moved back to Henryetta to fill the chief deputy sheriff position. Rose’s involvement as a witness is the perfect opportunity for Joe to reinsert himself into her life. But Mason Deveraux, Fenton County Assistant District Attorney and Rose’s new boyfriend, has waited too long for Rose to give her up without a fight.

Rose’s pregnant best friend, Neely Kate, suggests they find the robbers using Rose’s visions and Neely Kate’s knowledge about everything in town. The women are soon hot on the trail of the stolen money, but Rose is caught off guard when Neely Kate’s snoopiness detects the biggest complication of all: Rose might be expecting a baby of her own.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the previous books 25 Jun 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
By now I am well and truly fed up with Violet's behaviour and her character is losing credibility. Turning from the loving, if overprotective, sister to an obnoxious, immature and extremely annoying character doesn't quite do it for me, and the ending was not exactly satisfying. I hope the next installment either sees them split up or reconcile, but their current situation has been dragging on way too long. This is just my personal opinion. The rest of the book was somewhat predictable, but still a lovely read. Pre-ordered it ages ago and read it in one go. Especially the end made me hungry for more! Hopefully the next book will be as good as the others (with a less annoying Violet as it really makes enjoying a book difficult if you regularly find yourself wanting to throttle the sister of the protagonist!).

2.0 out of 5 stars Desperately Disappointing 19 Sep 2014
By JC
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have to say I am sad to be writing this review as I absolutely loved the other books in this series. I pre-ordered after reading the other 4 Rose Gardener stories so by the time I received it I had read many other books. When I started reading I thought something must have changed with my taste during the break between DGS books but once I finished I checked out other readers’ reviews and see that other people also noticed the change in style to the detriment of the series.

I found much of this book tedious to read and found myself scanning much of it. There is constant repetition not only of the events of the previous 4 books but also of conversations taking place at the time. Rose will have a conversation with Mason then Nealy Kate will arrive and the entire conversation is repeated for her benefit. I imagine if you take out all these repeats you would have around 2 pages per chapter.

I admired DGS for having created a couple (Rose and Joe) that had you rooting for them all the way through to then in an instant make you change your opinion about Joe and have you hating him. In contrast, the relationship between Rose and Mason doesn’t seem to have any momentum. Any piece of dialogue that isn’t a repeat of the page before is ruined by unnecessary innuendo so the relationship never shows any depth. Add to this that the book is based only 2 weeks after the end of book 4 (despite months of waiting for its release) makes their apparent love for each other very difficult to believe.

None of the characters were very likeable throughout the story. Joe now seems like a creepy stalker and Violet is just a bitch.

Again, another great book by one of my new favourite authors. I didn't enjoy this book as much as previous books in the series though because of a lack of the usual threats to the main heroine of the story and no real dilemma in love or prospects.
However it was still a good read that was thoroughly enjoyable.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mixed feelings! 28 July 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really enjoy reading about Rose and her world of chaos but this book has left me feeling frustrated and annoyed! If Violet and Joe don't disappear down a black hole (taking Hilary with them) in the next book and leave Rose alone to be the happy, kind hearted and independant woman she's become then I really think that the author is doing her an injustice.
Even if things don't work out with Mason, why on earth would she go back to Joe and Violet who are the most selfish and egotistical characters I think i've ever read.
Rose has proved she's not to be taken lightly and is not afraid to stand up for whats right so i'm sure she's prepared to go to the mattresses with them.... at least i'm hoping she is!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Read 15 Aug 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have enjoyed the Rose Gardner series, they are good reads and I have read them all.

Just wondering now if we are getting near the end of these adventures as in some places things seem a bit 'far fetched' and you are left wondering how many more escapes Rose can be part of.

Will be interesting to see just who Rose ends up with, Mason or Joe, perhaps that will be the end of the series! Just hope she gets rid of that awful sister of hers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Never disappoints 10 Sep 2014
By Paula
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
She has done it again! Another book in the saga that I couldn't put down. Normally in a series there is always one book that disappoints but that is just not the case with the Rose Gardner mysteries. I love that Denise gets my heart racing to see what the characters get up to next and getting soft spots for the other characters except Violet (b#@*h!!). You will not be disappointed reading this series.

3.0 out of 5 stars meh 6 Aug 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have really enjoyed the Rose Gardner stories and looked forward to number 5's release. Unfortunately, like many good series I think it's reached the end and there is not much left to give with her story. I was left feeling a bit deflated and believe the book should have been left at number 4. Nevertheless it was easy enough to read but I wouldn't left jumping for joy or on the edge of my seat.

2.0 out of 5 stars Definitey not as good as expected 5 Sep 2014
By H G.
Format:Kindle Edition
The book was very predictable. I did not like Rose's character as she has become too confident. I preferred her in the first 3 books. I was hoping she would be back with Joe. He broke up with her to save her family and friends.Mason is too good to be normsl. Not sure I will be reading the next book as I think the author is running out of good ideas.
