Once again, Zoe Sharp delivers a fast-paced story, drawing us further into the saga of Charlie Fox and her intriguing life. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Reading the two star review critical of the portrayal of the pharmaceutical industry, I have to say, this is fiction, it's clear it's fiction, and whether or not the actual industry being portrayed is completely accurate or not is kind of beside the point. It's not an expose of the pharmaceutical industry. But human nature is human nature, and greed drives many people to bad acts. It's no secret the pharmaceutical companies have neutered the FDA and repeatedly put dangerous drugs on the market which later end up being recalled. Working in law, I've seen stranger things in this and other industries, and I did not think this novel stretched the limits of believability beyond redemption.
I loved the developing story between Charlie and Sean Meyers and Dr. Foxcroft. It was fascinating to see what happens when Charlie is confronted with a situation where her own family is under threat. I thought the action was well paced, and I never lost interest throughout the novel. At $6.99 for the Kindle version, you can't go wrong. It's a solid series with a compelling main character, and I will continue reading the books Zoe Sharp writes. I love her writing style.
