The Chicken Soup series of books aims "to inspire and motivate you to love unconditionally, live more passionately and pursue your heartfelt dreams with more conviction." This volume contains "101 more stories to open the heart and rekindle the spirit," divided into sections such as Love, Parenting, Teaching and Learning, and Death and Dying. Many of them include insights that adults can learn from their children, who see the world from a different perspective to us, who haven't yet learnt to be cynical or to expect the worst.
Two warnings: first, this is a very American book, in both its content and its feel; British readers may find it just a little too much "Mom's apple pie". Second, it's not a book to be read right through, but a book to dip into, perhaps when you're feeling low, or need a touch of inspiration to boost you. It could also be useful to preachers and others who have a use for heart-warming anecdotes. --David V Barrett
