5.0 out of 5 stars Tongue in cheek, but fun nonetheless 8 April 2006
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I have to totally disagree with the previous reviewer. This was the first of the First Contact series that I read (some 7 years ago), and after that I was hooked. The story line was excellent and easy to follow and the main characters are SO likeable. Despite the fact that I hadn't read either of the first two books, I still knew exactly what was going on. The plot isn't so sophisticated as the first book, and does tend to get a bit ridiculous at times, but as long as you take it with a good dose of humour, it's a good read.

This is one of my favourite books and I'm very much looking forward to reading it again!

1.0 out of 5 stars How could he? 10 May 2005
This is the third in a series. I bought the first one (I'm a Point SF fan) read it, and enjoyed it. I bought the second and third together on the strength of the first book... and I wish I hadn't bothered.
This (along the second book) is one of the WORST sequels ever written, and a real let-down after reading the first book. This will stay untouched on my bookcase for a long, long time until the horrible memory of how appallingly bad it was finally fades away.
