About the Author

Mary Sheepshanks is a well known novelist as well as poet. She was brought up in the south of England but holidays in Snowdonia gave her a love of the countryside which has influenced her writing. She married the headmaster of Sunningdale School, and they ran the school together until 1967, when they moved to Yorkshire. After his death in 1991, Mary embarked on a career as a writer and her novels and poetry have been published in the UK and USA to critical acclaim. She now lives in Scotland. --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

Beautiful, beautiful poetry. These poems give a feeling of recognition, yes I have felt that feeling, had that thought but never could have expressed it so amazingly cleverly.I don't know how anyone could read some of these poems and not cry. They are quite outstanding.I cannot praise them highly enough.
