This book gets straight to the point- if you want a 'thinner, leaner, stronger' body then follow the training and nutrition plan by Mike and you will defo start seeing the results. I had been training for a year and only seeing a little bit of definition in my body so thought its time to step it up and start increasing my weights aswell as counting calories and macronutrient intake (which for the first few days seems a bit of a pain but once you get into it it becomes a habit and doesn't take long each day to work out your calories etc, especially if you plan your meals in advance). What I really like about Mikes books are the fact that he is there to answer any questions or queries you have and you can just email him and he will get back to you, which I think is fantastic as I reckon some people would try charging for this. Definitley recommend this book! Wow just wanted to add this on to the review, I have just checked in the mirror and, my problem areas which are the very tops of my thighs, have a 1-2cm gap in between them! This is so exciting I have only been on mikes programme for 1 & a half weeks and my thighs at the top, which have always touched, are no longer touching!!! Fat loss in just over a week I cannot actually believe it, thank you mike!!! It motivates you to keep going when you see the results .

I've managed to look up a wide variety of sources as part of my commitment to a long term lifestyle change.

Unhappy with my form and results I've been seeing in my apathetic gym routines, I decided to spend some money on "Thinner Leaner Stronger" as the reviews had been so favourable and on reviewing the YouTube channel, decided that Matthews probably does know what he's going on about ;)

I read this before going to a healthy eating seminar at my local gym; they told me nothing that I didn't know here, and indeed didn't go in to the detail that Matthews does. The dietary recommendations, the recommended exercises, and the way to treat your routines, all make complete sense.

I've left it 2 weeks of following Matthews' recommendations before actually writing this review. In that time I've dropped 4% body fat so suffice to say that when you've got a lot to lose it comes off quickly, his recommendations can and do work if you follow his guidance.

Couple this with a bit of elbow grease at the gym and you've got a realistic and sensible building block for a healthier future. It's not a lot of money to invest in your personal health, so go ahead and buy it, ladies!

I am still only half way through reading Thinner, Leaner, Stronger and already I am hooked. (My husband is also reading bigger, leaner, stronger). Not just on this book but on the author too. I am following the diet plan methodically and have already started losing the exact amount of weight that it states I would whilst managing to lift heavier weights week on week.
I find Mike Matthews so inspirational and have been reading and following his emails and podcasts, his articles and food tips on Facebook. I have become emersed in a new way of life.
Thank you Mike for being an inspiration and giving us a BS free diet and exercise system that finally works and makes sense.

If you are sick of faddy diets and want to know how to become strong and healthy, this is the book for you. It is absolutely not a 'quick fix' but a guide to changing your lifestyle. Matthews succinctly goes through the basics of nutrition and exercise then gives you all the tools you need to put it into practice. Personally, after I had made the diet plan spreadsheet I found it much easier to just program my evening meals into MyFitnessPal and work out the day as I went along, abiding by my daily allowances of fat, protein and carbs, but he gives lots of options. The workout plans are comprehensive and easy to understand.

A fantastic aspect of the book is that you can follow Matthews on Facebook and receive emails of articles that will give you a bit of a boost when you are flagging. Even better, you can email him if you have any questions and he WILL get back to you. I have just done this and he has emailed me back with questions to understand my problem, rather than a generic response.

In a world of phoneys and get-skinny-quick scams Matthews really comes across as knowledgeable and genuine. As someone who had tried all sorts of awful diets (5:2, no sugar, Clean 9, Atkins, Paleo, I could go on...) that left me hungry and miserable it is fantastic to look at nutrition in a completely different and healthy way and can't recommend this enough.

this was such an eye opener! I have learned so much from reading this book and by reading this book you can tell Michael genuinely wants to help! I am on my second week of training and already see tightening and toning up! I am so glad i bought this book and have already recommended it to so many friends!I dont feel like i am in the dark anymore when it comes to my training. His recipe book The Shredded Chef is also amazing, tasty quick meals that fit right in with my meal plan! Thank god for this book!
