The diversity of the authors is an added bonus; what really matters is the quality of, and approaches to critical thought that went into each entry. The reader is taken along a series of problems and paradoxes that cannot be resolved by recourse to hypocrisy of a nation-state ("if only they lived up to their ideals") or a presentation of data ("so there you have it!"). Instead, each text provides the reader with heuristic devices to problematize and analyze different logics of Islamophobia without reducing it to rhetorical strategies of right-wingers (or left-wingers for that matter). It is a must read for those who are committed to the study of racism, religion, politics and critical theory.
