Product Description

Product Description

Terrifyingly relevant to what's currently happening in Syria and Iraq. A must read if you want to make some sense of the rise of ISIS/Islamic State, and the future.

NOT FOR YOU if you're just after yet another bog-standard, zombie-gore-story (and nothing wrong with that!). If you want something with more intelligence that will make you think as deep as you dare go, this is the only choice.

‘More 1984 or Animal Farm than your traditional zombie fest of blood and gore’

‘From the beginning to the end it had me in suspense, questioning what I believe and what I understand now’

‘It drew me in to feeling that I was evolving the story with [the author]. This was underlined by the way we are led into the twist at the end’

‘[Think Zombie] offers many penetrating insights into the ills of modern society and all told is a sharp and witty political polemic with a clear philosophical message’

The first to turn was Kate, mutilating her family. Other zombie outbreaks followed, the country rapidly turning into anarchy. But what was causing it to happen? It seemed like some kind of virus, a zombie plague, but this was very different. It just didn't make sense. Kate’s friend Laura, believed she knew the answer, but no one was listening. Could she really be the only one to have worked it out? Even she struggled to believe her explanation, but surely someone would want to at least listen? Would she be able to get to talk to the right people before she fell victim to the zombies? Even with her knowledge, would they be able to stop it? And what of the mysterious new philosophy that more and more people seemed to be talking about?

Think Zombie is a novel set in the early 1990s about a zombie apocalypse, the power of information, organisational ineffectiveness and how a few determined and extraordinary people can make a difference. The truth behind the zombies is mindblowing, but through a series of discussions, no one is left in any doubt that it really could happen.

Think Zombie is the debut publication of Jason Ernest and is an original, self-contained, genre-changing zombie novel.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Zobie novel with depth. 3 Sep 2013
By Xia!
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
In Jason Ernest debut novel the reader is instantly confronted with the zombie mayhem. There is no build up no setting the scene the zombie world is upon you from the beginning.
Sometimes graphic at times satirical.
However this is not just a straight zombie novel for all the philosophers out there many theories are explored giving the book greater depth and originality.
Zombie Apocalypse meets the deep thinkers of the world - Think Zombie!

5.0 out of 5 stars A bit more than just Zombies 16 Jun 2013
By JRM
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Before I start this review I must say that I never normally read zombie stories or watch them on TV. However this one proved to be a really good read and almost a new reading experience as the author allows us to see things before he states them but then fills in the `holes' or answers to the "but what about this....." questions in a way that keeps us guessing. It drew me in to feeling that I was evolving the story with him. This was underlined by the way we are led into the twist at the end. It operates on different levels and I found I could relate, with some amusement to the Author's cynicism and all too frightening observations.

5.0 out of 5 stars A true zombie suspense novel 4 Jun 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
From the beginning to the end it had me in suspense, questioning what I believe and what I understand now. Funny in parts and a little gory but this helps create the setting for the novel. At the end it has made me think "What next" excellent read :)

3.0 out of 5 stars Hmmm 1 Feb 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
My pet peeve is writers who use their characters to espouse or explore political ideas- they do it awfully in lady Chatterly's lover- on and on- its like a political science lecture and all very boring. If you want to explain or explore an ideological view point then please do so through plot and character development not with wooden dialogue between characters that goes on and on for pages as if its perfectly natural to stop in the middle of a zombie apocalypse and discuss the psychology of the butterfly effect.
However, this book deserves threes stars for the good bits in between, if you just skip through them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unputdownable! 9 Jan 2014
By TJane
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Cracking read that races along at a thumping pace. The author created and filled out the main characters so that I cared about what happened to them. The zombie action was thrilling and a smattering of humour made this an exciting and interesting book that had me laughing out loud in places. The thought provoking way political issues were addressed had me thinking about them days after I had finished reading.
Highly recommended for anyone into zombies, political fiction or if you just fancy a good memorable thriller.

Fantastic debut novel from this author - I hope he writes another.

Great read with action from the onset, thought provoking and with a twist, you have a great plot that contains everything from the political, philosofical and gore, Think Zombie was gripping to read and contained everything you need from a good thriller. I look forward to the next book from this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really enjoyed this book 14 Sep 2013

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Really enjoyed this book. It goes at a good pace and it's good to have a book that delivers on content and not just flowery language.

The storey involves the usual unravelling of zombie carnage, but also intriguingly reveals the what when why and how's that are behind this apocalypse. As such it's part zombie novel, part detective storey and part commentary on our modern information driven world.
