Review

"Perhaps we would have to go back to Gautama to find another teacher as convincingly austere, as rationally lucid and who, offering nothing but liberation from the self, yet can bring conviction to those who have so often been disappointed." -- "Dr. Gerald Heard""The material contained in this volume was originally presented in the form of talks to students, teachers and parents in India, but its keen penetration and lucid simplicity will be deeply meaningful to thoughtful people everywhere, of all ages, and in every walk of life. Krishnamurti examines with characteristic objectivity and insight the expressions of what we are pleased to call our culture, our education, religion, politics and tradition; and he throws much light on such basic emotions as ambition, greed and envy, the desire for security and the lust for power all of which he shows to be deteriorating factors in human society."-- "from the Editor's Note"-- "from the Editor's Note""Krishnamurti's observations and explorations of moderm man's estate are penetrating and profound, yet given with a disarming simplicity and directness. To listen to him or to read his thoughts is to face oneself and the world with an astonishing morning freshness."--" Anne Morrow Lindbergh"--" Anne Morrow Lindbergh"

Product Description

Lucid and penetrating observations on the world around us and our place in it from a spiritual teacher of the Hindu tradition.

‘The material contained in this volume was originally presented in the form of talks to students, teachers and parents in India, but its keen penetration and lucid simplicity will be deeply meaningful to thoughtful people everywhere, of all ages, and in every walk of life. Krishnamurti examines with characteristic objectivity and insight the expressions of what we are pleased to call our culture, our education, religion, politics and tradition; and he throws much light on such basic emotions as ambition, greed and envy, the desire for security and the lust for power – all of which he shows to be deteriorating factors in human society.’
From the Editor’s Note

‘Krishnamurti’s observations and explorations of modern man’s estate are penetrating and profound, yet given with a disarming simplicity and directness. To listen to him or to read his thoughts is to face oneself and the world with an astonishing morning freshness.’
Anne Marrow Lindbergh

This is the first book of Krishnamurti I have ever read and I must say it's increadibly refreshing and inspiering...
After reading this thin little book I decided to write my final dissertation on utopian concept of new education system based on Krishnamurti teachings and Rudolf Steiner approach.
It is totally vital to read this book ! Helps you to clear your head and look at life from a different perspective simply enjoying it more as it is.

I have purchased this book for a number of people. Every one of them came back and told me that they didn't feel they would ever look at the world the same way again. This book of immense thought is written in manageable chapters. The first few chapters will lay the foundation for later chapters. You will not come out the other side unimpressed.

Krishnamurthy does not offer mumbo-jumbo words.

I am fortunate to find this book which has saved my time and energy. If you are serious about your life, then you will discover the life that he is talking about. Beware that he is not going to give you what you want - instead he takes you to what is true in its own accord. By Vijay Pabbathi.
