FAMILY TREE MAKER 2006:

Build your tree:
Getting started is easy. Just enter the information you already know and watch your tree take shape. As your research gets going, you can add new relatives to your tree storing other information you've collected along the way; birth dates, birthplaces, marriages and deaths. You can easily add notes, photos, images and documents on each person, to tell his or her story.

Search for ancestors:
The program will automatically search the largest online collection of family history information at Ancestry.co.uk. A Web Search Report allows you to compare the search results side-by-side with the information in your tree, so you can quickly determine whether it's relevant. You can then merge the record directly into your Family Tree file

Design trees, charts, reports and more:
Bring your family story to life by designing and customising a wide variety of charts, trees and reports with images, photos, colours fonts and borders. You can even create a family tree album as a precious keepsake to pass down through the generations

Share results with family and friends:
Once you've completed all the hard work and research, it's time to share your results with family and friends. Produce a professional looking family book, print-out heirloom quality family trees, publish a family web page, or email your family file to others around the world

5.0 out of 5 stars Great software, 4 April 2007
This review is from: GSP Who Do You Think You Are? Family Tree Maker Deluxe (PC) (CD-ROM)
Watched the first and second series and decided to research my own family history.

Having looked around at the various products available I opted for this version of the Family Tree Maker but obviously branded as per the show, I reasoned that for the BBC to allow the use of their programe branding on a product they must have thoroughly checked it through .

    I have not been disappointed.

I really need to do more research before I can fully use it, but having entered some basic info i've managed to create various charts and trees.

As someone who is relatively new to the hobby, I'm hooked!

    I'd definitely recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Vista compatibility, 11 Jun 2007

Most features on 'Who Do You Think You Are? Family Tree Maker Deluxe' are unaffected by the new version of Microsoft Windows, Windows Vista. However, certain aspects (like exporting a view, book, or tree to PDF) will not function without an important update for Family Tree Maker. This update is completely free, and steps for updating your program can be found on the developers website, this can be reached via the Technical Support area of the GSP website.
