50 THINGS YOU CAN DO TODAY TO MANAGE ARTHRITIS,
This review is from: 50 Things You Can Do To Manage Arthritis (Paperback)
This book is well written and makes it easy to understand the difference between Rheumatoid Arthritis and Osteoarthritis. It features case histories, the importance of a good balanced diet and exercise - especially swimming, which is weight bearing and gives much support and flexibility to painful joints. The importance of fish oils is emphasised as well as relaxation and other supplementary benefits. The listing of various remedies is also very helpful as are the numerous tips for everyday living.

50 things you can do to manage arthritis,
This review is from: 50 Things You Can Do To Manage Arthritis (Paperback)
Very useful little book with lots of information and useful contacts if you need to find out more information. This is one little book I will not lend to friends in case it is not returned but would recommend.

This review is from: 50 Things You Can Do To Manage Arthritis (Paperback)
This is the second book I've bought by Wendy Green - the first was about migraines. I was surprised by the previous reviewer's comments - I found an awful lot of useful information - especially on diet, stress and supplements in this book.
There is a comprehensive section on supplements - including some I'd not heard of previously - such as phytodolor and SAMe. There is even a handy 'supplement selector' which helps you choose the most effective supplement for your type of arthritis. If the previous reviewer had read this section fully she might have noticed that stinging nettle was rated as having only 'limited effectiveness', whereas capsaicin gel, phytodolor and SAMe were highly rated for osteoarthritis. Fish body oil was highly rated for rheumatoid arthritis. What particularly struck me was the amount of research and evidence given regarding supplements - hence my surprise at the previous review. All in all this is a very useful, easy-to-understand and comprehensive guide to arthritis.
