I thought the last review was too harsh. It's been many years since I read this, and, yes, some stories are very aged and pulpy, but, in my humble opinion, should you enjoy the idea of a two volume science fiction set, "Men hunting things" and "Things hunting men," this book delivers on that promise. I enjoyed it and kept the pair proudly on the shelf for years. Should you wish great literature, well, what the heck are you looking here for anyway? It's fun. Simply fun.

A truly incredible collection of great short SF stories by various vintage authors -- and I mean vintage! This is great research material for all of us wannabe authors who need to study well written and interesting SF stories (since most of the short SF stories in today's magazines are totally boring) so thay can enter contests. There's even a story in there, by Clifford Simak, called GOOD NIGHT MR. JAMES, which was made into one of the old Outer Limits episodes, titled DUPLICATE MAN. Mr. Simak's story is far superior to the teleplay, a teleplay that had a super great storyline and subject matter to begin with!

Good Sci-Fi - read it years ago and find it just as enjoyable today. Simple adventure stories revolving around Men hunting Aliens/Monsters. No Social Adjendas, No Political Comments, just interesting collection of fairly short stories. Not quite as good as Drakes 'Things Hunting Men', but a buy RECOMMENDATION for both.
