I've ordered this book as a present for my 8 y.o. son to inspire him to make some drawings and paintings. But from the moment I've got it through the mail I cannot stop enjoying the book myself. The book includes a lot of different projects like finger painting, chalk painting, making textured papers, pen and ink drawings, eraser printing, and many more. Each page is full of discoveries. All projects are easy but beautiful. First thing my son has tried was robots drawing. I've made a paper elephant with ink doodle drawings on it.
This is our best children art book so far.

I had seen a friend's daughter with this book, and thought it a brilliant idea so bought it for my son. It teaches children how to draw all sorts of things. Sort of Take Hart meets Mister Maker.

A very good book to teach children (or adults) how to draw. I would say its aimed at children from around 5 years +
but I have bought it for ideas on art projects for my 2 year old, it does have pictures in where a child of this age will enjoy doing with an adult. It starts off with simple drawings of dogs using pencils and gradually goes on to make bigger pictures using homemade stencils & paints there are also pictures to do using chalk and how you can make different effects with it.

Bought it on a whim to inspire me for projects to do with 3 year old. It is a lovely book with a lot of great ideas, some of it will have to wait as it requires finer motor skills, but I'm sure we'll enjoy it for years to come. We have only done the dogs so far, but they are so cute, I thoroughly enjoyed making them myself and my daughter loved having a go!

This book is great. My daughter and I have this and spend hours trying to copy the wee dogs and flowers, we even use the designs when we paint on pottery. This book along with, 365 things to do, can entertain any child who loves to draw/make things for hours at a time. It's quite handy for parents who would like to learn some basic fun drawing techniques:)

A wonderful book. The artists have created a really inspiring book. What I really love about it is that the artists have shown you how, with some very simple techniques using lines, dots, doodles, simple paint marks and smudges you can create some attractive art work. You don't need to have a talent for art to do this and once you have tried these simple methods I'm sure you could produce some impressive work. I can't wait to get going. The problem is I am 51 and this book was one of my daughter's birthday presents! I am contemplating clandestine art sessions after she has gone to bed. SHhhh, don't tell her!

I bought this book for my 8 year old daughter to inspire her and bring on her drawing techniques - She LOVES it and has not stopped drawing since it arrived. There are fantastic ideas, from little things that take a few minutes through to beautiful projects that you could stretch out for days. The book is beautifully presented and colourful, a definite hit! I would recommend it over and over again - I would think it is suitable on the whole for children from about 7 years - though some projects could be tackled by younger children. I don't think there is an upper age limit - I am thinking of sneaking the book out of her room in the evenings and having a go myself! 10/10
