Product Description

Arrested and put in a young offender's institute for using his precocious code-solving skills to steal money, things are looking bleak for Jonah Wish. Then, in the dead of night, a gang of four teenagers break him out. They work for Nathaniel Coldhardt, debonair master criminal and leader of a team of highly trained teen-thieves. Kids with amazing skills but no one who will miss them. Jonah, a genius at cryptology, is their newest recruit. His talents are perfect for the next assignment Coldhardt has in mind - his most daring yet. But before Jonah can turn his thoughts to deciphering the complex Egyption symbols and the treasures - or secrets - they hide, he has to decide if this is what he wants for himself. Coldhardt may have chosen him, but will he choose Coldhardt? And does he have any choice

I thought that this book was really good. It really deserves 4 and a half stars! Jonah is a believable character, who has a talent, for cryptography (puzzle and code cracking). Nathaniel Coldhardt, an aging, debonair master-criminal runs his own unique job creation scheme. He recruits teenagers with special skills - kids from the wrong side of the tracks. He trains them as ruthless, efficient professionals and employs them to undertake the daring crimes he's so good at planning. This book reminded me of Indiana Jones and his adventures. This is because the story is like his adventures, the whole, achaelogical artifact with mythical magical powers. But at the same time, appeals to people who like suspense. I think this book would appeal to young adults most.

I hope Stephen Cole will write a sequel, or more like this!

First of all, I am not the type that reads books all that often. But this book on the other hand, truly got my attention and it got me reading! The story is both original, yet familiar. You have somehow heard it before, but it is new in its own and exciting way.

The way the author describes emotion, how he depicts the way things look and how he describes the action second by second is truly an art form in itself; he does it perfectly. The way this story is told, the way he defines emotions and scenes makes this book come alive and the book makes you want to read on more. It truly did so with me...

If you are the kind of person who enjoys reading books filled with action, emotional drama, twists you would not expect and the occasional funny or witty comment, then this is a book right up your alley! This book has a lot of interesting and unique characters, which makes it both fun and interesting to read. I hope you enjoy it!
