an excellent comedy from the great days of brit com the mid seventies
with a cast lead by two of britains most versatile and likeable actors
Bob Hoskins as george who is just released from prison to find his best friend and fellow thief John Thaw living with his wife played briliantly by Pat Ashton (The Gaffer, On the Buses) somehow the three manage to cohabitate under the same roof
not without hillarious results
Like when George's rescue of a drowning child illicites sympathy from his wife
When he makes it appear he jumped in the river to end his own life
or when the boys harbor an escaped con and how they try to get rid of him
or when the boys try to get back into the life of crime fumbling all the way
If you like british comedy you certainly can't beat the cast and it's a funny premise that works over the eight half hour episodes
